CUSTOMIZE
YOUR GEAR
If you are purchasing you first bench press shirt we do not recommend getting
any customizations. Customizations are only suitable, and effective, for
experienced shirt and suit users. Customizations may or may not be allowed
in your lifting federation. Check your federation rules and regulations.
We prefer you to place any custom bench shirt or suit orders by phone so
one of our experienced staff can call you back to review your requests.
Because some customized gear is unreturnable, some lifters may want to order
starndard gear first, ensure the fit is correct, then send it in with specific
instructions and payment for customizations. Only customize gear that you
are familiar with and are absolutely certain of the collrect size based
on physical experience. Allow additional time for your custom gear to be
manufactured. Some items will take 2-3 weeks for manufacturing.

WHAT ARE CUSTOMIZATIONS
FOR?
Some customizations are for comfort, some are for added advantages in
shirt/suit performance.
COMMON BENCH SHIRT MODIFICATIONS:
MULTIPLE PLY SHIRTS:
Plys are the number of layers a shirt has. Shirts, suits, and briefs can
be purchased as single ply or double ply. Doubly ply equipment is more
expensive, however, more poundage reurn is attainable and more strength.
Some organizations or sanctions do not allow double ply. Be sure to know
the rules of the sanctioning organization when you enter competitions.
Some organizations’ rules restrict gear to be of one ply while some
organizations certify more than one ply. It is also easier to put gear
on that is made with a single layer. With stiff-type material such as
Ultimate Denim™, denim, or canvas, double layer is usually as easy
to put on as one layer. For an increase in comfort, durability and performance,
double layer can also work wonderfully. You will probably want to use
the maximum layers allowed so you have every advantage possible. Note
that two layer gear made from the HardCore material has one layer of HardCore
material and one layer of HeavyDuty material. There are two main reasons
for this. The HardCore is so thick and heavy that it reaches the limit
of what commercial machines, with the correct stitching, will sew together.
Also, this will provide you with a combination of the performance properties
of both materials. The Denim material used is the finest quality and strength
available. Even so, for Radical Denim Shirts we strongly recommend double
layer because of the demands the Radical technology places on the shirt.
Be sure to check the rules of the organizing body for the meet you want
to compete in.
Additional plys make the shirt more expensive. Multiple plys increases
the size shirt you need. For example, go up one size up for a double ply
shirt.
SHIRT BACK VARIATIONS: The back of bench shirts come
default as a "Firm Back," constructed of the same poly material
as the shirt. Some experienced lifters choose to alter the back deisgn
of their shirts. Here are the different back styles.
Firm Back - default, complete closed back, same poly material
as shirt
Compete Open Back - shirt is cut vertically through neckline
and entire back, making it easy on/off and allowing for specific placement
of neckline relative to bar placement.
Complete Open Back with Velcro Straps - same as above with Velcro
straps added to secure in place.
Partial Open Back with Velcro Straps - bottom 2/3 of shirt is
cut and Velcro straps are added. The neckline and upper third of shirt
is not cut. Makes the shirt earier to get on.
Stretchy Back - a stretchy, thin, spandex back making the shirt
easier to get on and more comfortable.
Floppy Back - a stretchy, thin, oversized, spadex back, allowing
for a closed back shirt that mimics the function of an open back shirt.
Velcro Straps are an additional $25.
SCOOPED NECK: When a shirt is "Scooped" the
front neckline is cut, lowered and restitched. This makes the shirt more
comfortable and aids in more proper nackline/chest plate placement - making
the shirt more effective. Very popular. Shirts can be scooped one, two
or three inches.
SCOOPED BACK NECK: Rear neckline is cut and lowered for
comfort. Not common. Some lifters with shoulder injuries/issues request
a back scoop if improved comfort is anticipated.
Back neck can be scooped one or two inches.
REINFORCED NECK: The neckline, whether regular or scooped,
can be Reinforced with hardcore stitching. A "Super Neck" can
also be requested which adds plys to the neckline in addition to the hardcore
stitching. A super neck comes default with a scoop of 1 inch but additional
inches can be requested. A super neck is an additional $25.
GRID STITCHING: Vertical and horizontal lines of hardcore
stitching is done over the chest plate of the shirt rendering the shirt
stronger and more heavy duty. Very effective for multiple ply shirts whereas
the grid stitching secures the plys together to prevent shifting or sliding.
Grid stitching should not be done on the Phenom family of shirts because
the stitching will interfere with the rebound/stretch of this particular
shirt. Good for multiple ply Rage X or Denims. Grid stitching is an additional
$25.
ROUND STITCHING: Simliar to Grid Stitching but done on
the shirt sleeves. Secures plys together to prevent shifting or slipping
and adds another degree of reinforcement. Can be done on Phenoms, Rage
X and Denims. Round stitching is an additional $25.
SLEEVE MODIFICATIONS: Some lifters, although not common,
have the sleeves shortened on their shirts one or two inches.
CUSTOM
OPTIONS FOR SQUAT AND DEADLIFT SUITS:
Velcro Shoulder Straps can be added to make the straps easier to get on,
and allows for specific tightness to be manipulated. Velcro straps are
an additional $25.
