HOW
TO MEASURE FOR SHIRTS
You will need two measurements for most bench shirts - the shoulder circumference
and the chest circumference. Measure your shoulder circumference by stretching
a tape measure all the way around the circumference of your body at shoulder
level, at the point where your deltoids are most prominent. Measure your
chest circumference directly under your arm pits above nipples. Measure
your arm/bicep circumference at the largest part. All measurements should
be taken relaxed and unflexed. Do not take off from your relaxed measurements.
It is best if you can have someone else do the measurements for you.
BENCH
SHIRTS AND ERECTOR SHIRTS
To choose your own size in Erector Shirts, Standard Blast Shirt, HD Blast,
HPHD, EHPHD and PHENOM: For first time users it is recommended that you
add 2 to your shoulder circumference measurement to get your shirt size.
For example, if your shoulder circumference is 50, 50 + 2 = 52. Or you
may add 9 to your chest measurement to arrive at your shirt size. Choose
whichever method gives you the smaller number for your shirt size.
For most everyone else, your shoulder circumference measurement is your
shirt size. You may choose to go a size smaller, however there is a chance
it would be too tight for you.
DENIM
BENCH SHIRTS
For denim bench shirts you will need to measure your chest and arm circumference.
Measure your chest and arm size and enter the information in the drop
down box for the particular Denim Shirt you choose. If you are a first
time user or want a snug fit instead of a tight fit, add one inch to your
measurement choice.
THE
RAGE AND RAGEX BENCH SHIRTS.
For single ply Rage and RageX, add 2 to your chest measurement and round
up to an even number. That even number will be the recommended size. (50+2
= size 52, 51+2 = 53 rounded up to size 54). For
the double ply Rage and RageX, add 4 to your chest measurement. Round
up to an even number. That even number will be the recommended size. (50+4
= size 54, 51+4 = 55 then round up to size 56)

WHAT
IS THE DIFFERENCE IN PLYS?
Plys are the number of layers a shirt has. Shirts, suits, and briefs
can be purchased as single ply or double ply. Doubly ply equipment
is more expensive, however, more poundage reurn is attainable and
more strength. Some organizations or sanctions do not allow double
ply. Be sure to know the rules of the sanctioning organization when
you enter competitions. Some organizations’ rules restrict gear
to be of one ply while some organizations certify more than one ply.
It is also easier to put gear on that is made with a single layer.
With stiff-type material such as Ultimate Denim™, denim, or
canvas, double layer is usually as easy to put on as one layer. For
an increase in comfort, durability and performance, double layer can
also work wonderfully. You will probably want to use the maximum layers
allowed so you have every advantage possible. Note that two layer
gear made from the HardCore material has one layer of HardCore material
and one layer of HeavyDuty material. There are two main reasons for
this. The HardCore is so thick and heavy that it reaches the limit
of what commercial machines, with the correct stitching, will sew
together. Also, this will provide you with a combination of the performance
properties of both materials. The
Denim material used is the finest quality and strength available.
Even so, for Radical Denim Shirts we strongly recommend double layer
because of the demands the Radical technology places on the shirt.
Be sure to check the rules of the organizing body for the meet you
want to compete in.
